When we first launched the College Mate writing contest in January 2017, we encouraged readers to submit before the contest gained momentum.

One reader that followed that advice was Shandean. In fact, she provided our only submission for the contest in February, making her the winner by default.

Her winning piece was entitled: 8 Quick Study Tips for the Exhausted College Student.

Back in the Race

Just in case you’re wondering, Shandean has submitted to the March round, as well. However, this time, we must admit she has stiff competition from Ta’lor and Nicole. Their relationship pieces have taken off on the blog, and on social media.
